Oh My...

Small Frame Bag on the Runway - Style.com
I'm about to use a phrase that is totally over-used in internet fashion-writing these days, but when I say it, you'll know it's the real thing: Oooh. La. Love.

I was doing some competitive shopping on Friday (I'm not kidding, this is my job!) and moseyed into the Marc Jacobs store on Maiden Lane for a quick look around. Actually, their Halloween window is so fabulously over-the-top you can't help but be charmed and enter the store. I browsed the usual styles of shoes and handbags, and then my heart absolutely stood still.

There, on the second shelf, hanging by its little handles, like one of Atalanta's golden balls, was the Small Frame Bag in gold metallic python leather from the Fall 2006 collection. It's luscious texture, it's polished tortoise frame, it's jaunty chain - it's entire glory. I tried it on. I held it. I opened it and caressed the suede lining. I saw the $3,100.00 price tag. I put it back.

But it doesn't mean I've forgotten about it. Lucky be the lady that gets this bag to carry to holiday parties this year... I'll be so jealous that I'll want to spill my cocktail on you, but I won't - I promise.

C'est fou! Saison après saison les sacs sont de plus en plus beaux.
