Assouline Memoires - Number 14

crates-new200602.jpgAh those little white books - so much design, style, and indulgence celebrated in so few pages. Of course I'm talking about Assouline's overly-impressive library of "Memoires" showcasing fashion, design, celebrity, and style. Imagine having a complete set - your creative inspiration would be limitless with all of the classics at your fingertips! These books are a great way to have a little bit of the best without spending mega-bucks on a monograph.

I only have two of the series, "Marc Jacobs" (duh!) and "Klimt and Fashion"... Don't look to the "Memoires" for a comprehensive view - how can you possibly encapsulate a style icon whose influence is multi-generational in less than fifty pages? Impossible. But the little amuse bouche that Assouline provides is tasty indeed! Did you know that they now come in a box set? Of course you did, you little finger-on-the-pulse-chicster you. Yes, for a few hundred dollars you can build your "Memoires" library all at once by buying a wooden crate-full of the mini-tomes. Choose from Fashion, Design, or Art - but why not go for all three? Think how tidy those distinct little white bindings will look dominating your bookshelf - and then you'd have a handy wooden crate to store all of your other stuff!
