Edie: Girl on Fire

To celebrate the recent release of Chronicle Books' "Edie: Girl on Fire", and its even more-recent addition to my list for Santa Claus, I bring you a quote from Ms. Sedgwick that is just oh-so-appropriate for my life these days:
"I want to reach people and express myself. You have to put up with the risk of being misunderstood if you are going to try to communicate. You have to put up with people projecting their own ideas, attitudes, misunderstanding you. But it's worth being a public fool if that's all you can be in order to communicate yourself."
-Edie Sedgwick
Public fool, indeed.
The much-discussed, much-anticipated, and somewhat "controversial" (I hate that word "controversial" but it's already been over-used with regard to this film, so why not use it?) film Factory Girl is due to be released on December 29th, with Sienna Miller in the "controversial" casting as Edie. While my friend Lee hates the idea, I am eager to see what Ms. Miller can do - I find that casting to be appropriately poetic and chic.
