And in Other News...

It's officially mid-November, which means that you can go out and get a copy of CosmoGirl's December issue. Why is this significant? Because the fabulous Meg from Faking Good Breeding is featured in CosmoGirls group of Project 2024 interns this year... Hurrah Meg!

And in other magazines... Visit Park Avenue Peerage's preview of Virginia Living's photos of Tinsley Mortimer that will be featured in December. A very beautiful set of photographs shot by none other than my dear friend for years, Robb Scharetg. The commentary on PAP's post is pretty priceless - those debutantes are merciless!

And speaking of peerage... Helene at The Luxe Chronicles wrote this fascinating post about one of Empress Josephine's watches that was recently sold at auction for $1.3M to an unnamed buyer. The watch was made by Breuget in 1800, and due to that company's exhaustive record-keeping, we know the whole fascinating story behind said timepiece.

And speaking of French queens and the House of Breguet... The Petit Trianon at Versailles is currently undergoing an extensive renovation due to the generous sponsorship of Breguet. Apparently, the last resident of the Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette, also ordered a watch from the master craftsmen in Switzerland, but the legend has it that the watch was so complex that it was never finished until the 1820s - long after la reine Marie had gone to the guillotine. But, with respect for tradition and the preservation of beautiful things, Breuget has offered to sponsor the much-needed renovation of the house.

And speaking of The Petit Trianon... Due to Breguet's renovation, the collection of art and objects that are usually housed at the Petit Trianon are currently in San Francisco at an extraordinary exhibition at the Palace of the Legion of Honor. I was priviledged to be invited to the official press preview, lecture and tour on Friday, and this show is not to be missed! Both Martin Chapman, curator of the exhibit, and Pierre Arizolli-Clementel of the Petit Trianon museum guided our press group through the collection and provided fascinating insight.

More on that later...stay tuned!
