Bright Light City

Yup, I'm in Vegas...but not for play, for work sadly. But the Elvis tune has been playing through my head the past few days so I thought I'd share. I loved this clip from YouTube with the old Fremont Street casinos and fantastic classic neon signs. One of these days I'm going to that neon sign graveyard - if I could I'd buy up every one of those relics. They should be in museums!

I wish Vegas were still this way instead of the string out-of-the-box corporate resorts and fantasylands that are now there. It strikes me that the place needs to have something a little bit dirty around its edges to make it appealing - like a great vintage spangled dress: you may not know where it's been, but you're sure it must have been one hell of a party.
