Marc Jacobs Snow Princess Overcome by Un-Chic Cohorts

MJsnow%20princess.jpgSunday, December 2, 2007 - Fillmore Street, San Francisco

The Marc by Marc Jacobs store on Fillmore Street experienced some hectic activity this afternoon when two giggling friends, a "Ms. P&C" and her friend "Lee", decided to have their holiday picture taken with the Toy Solider and Snow Princess featured in the shop window.

"They seemed like such nice, normal girls," Toy Soldier said, "they asked us if they could throw snow in the picture so we gave them the fresh snow that's kept behind the swan since the stuff on the floor is a little dirty. I think that was when it all went wrong for Snow Princess."

Snow Princess, a delicate, ephemeral creature from Sugar-Plum Fairyland dressed in white tulle and MJ's $6 oversized hair gems, apparently then saw the un-chic attire of the suspects.

Ms. P&C - a sometimes fashion writer with strong opinions on Marc Jacobs - is shirking any responsibility in the matter. "What can I say, it was Sunday." She told this reporter with a shrug, "I wasn't wearing any makeup, had my hair pulled back and my big, dorky glasses on. But hey - I was carrying a Marc Jacobs bag, and while the glasses may be dorky, they are Prada..."

Upon seeing the dissheveled, un-chic apprearance of the two young ladies, Snow Princess was allegedly so overcome that she fell overbackwards across the front of the white swan, just as the photograph was taken.

"I didn't even know what was happening," Toy Soldier said, "I thought we were all having such a good time."

"I couldn't believe it," Lee stated, still in shock, "there were children in line waiting for their turn and one of them shouted at us: 'you killed her! you killed the Snow Princess!' I was utterly mortified. I don't know when I'll be able to return to Marc by Marc Jacobs - and I live in the neighborhood! I'm so embarassed."

Snow Princess was soon revived by the whiff of a fresh batch of hot chocolate from the Bittersweet Cafe across the street. She did not sustain any injuries, except for the loss of a hair gem which flew off of her head in the fall and landed in a nearby faux-snow bank.

FYI - No Snow Princess was actually harmed in the creation of this picture...
