Chanel Windows at Bergdorf's

Many apologies for being a lazy blogger! I've been traveling and my hotels have had spotty connectivity at best - definitely not the kind that supports uploading images, etc... So, here's a post I wrote last week but couldn't publish until now!
I've never actually bought anything at Bergdorf Goodman despite the many times I've visited the store. I could probably afford something
there, but my feeling is that when shopping at Bergdorf's you should go
big. Walk in the door and devil-may-care your way to that extravagant
piece of cashmere, or shoes, or evening gown, or hand-stitched driving
gloves that you'll never wear. Buy up the house with your extravagance
and don't look back... If you can do that, then yes, you can afford
to live in Manhattan. Most of us however, (even those that can afford
to live in Manhattan,) must be contented with Bergdorf's for the
window-shopping. Thankfully, the windows always deliver...
I am loving the series of windows that Bergdorf Goodman devoted to the Chanel Fall collection... They are all along Fifth Avenue and make window shopping especially luscious. You can really see the details, the textiles, the drapes, the tailoring... for some, this is as close as you can get to Chanel, but it definitely gives many reasons to get closer. I especially loved the giant hanger draped with pearls, handbags and accessories - over the top, fun, and beautiful. Perfect Chanel.
