It's Monday: Think Pink!

Before Miranda Priestly there was Maggie Prescott... She was full of pizzazz - perfectly capable of hosting a high fashion soiree or crashing a party of beatniks. She also served as La Commandant of the fashion world.

I watched Funny Face last night on TCM and had totally forgotten this opening sequence featuring Kay Thompson (as Ms. Prescott) being perfectly regal in an office full of early-era fashionistas. These clackers are more of a Greek chorus of sorts with their "Don't say that Ms. Prescott!" Isn't it interesting how little things change?

This clip also features the gorgeous Suzy Parker (front, center, red hair) who was Coco Chanel's favorite muse...

Anyway, the style advice rings true: when having a bad day (or a Monday), think pink!
