Broadway, Top to Toe

Sorry about the lazy posting this week, but it does happen...no excuses though. But, I did conduct a fun adventure this week! Did I mention that I gave up my car a few weeks ago? Yes, yours truly is one of the "one less car" crew and I think it's one of the best things I've ever done. I've been walking everywhere. I've always been a walker, but now I don't even bother to wait for buses or cabs, I just go. The other day I ended up walking home from work and I thought that maybe I could do that trip more regularly... When walking you see things you wouldn't normally see, and that's always a good thing!

My office is at the waterfront, near the Financial District one block from the Embarcadero at Broadway. Broadway completes its course just over 2.5 miles west at Lyon Street where it meets The Presidio - a spot just a few blocks away from my house. So I thought I'd walk up Broadway all the way home and see what I could find. It's a pretty cool journey if I do say so: historic, bawdy, elegant, busy, and quiet - all in one street. I actually did the walk twice because my camera conked out, so the skies are definitely different, but I thought the mix was cool...

Here's a few images from the group, but please visit my Flickr feed and check out the full set.
