Wanted: Wellies

It's cold, wet, and overall miserable weather-wise here in San Fran... Like my friend Catie at Cuffington, I too have been in a pickle about how to coordinate an office-appropriate ensemble while keeping the feet dry and warm. Yes, I am already guilty of wearing not-so-cute (but comfortable & walkable) shoes for my commute and then changing into hot high heels at work. However, in this type of meterological situation, even the usual ways don't work too well.

I've been eyeing these silver Hunter boots on Piperlime for some time now, and I may just need to indulge. Of course, the more appropriate version would be black, navy, or the classic green, but the silver speaks to me. It coordinates so well with my sparkly personality. True, Gwen Paltrow has the black ones - as seen on a recent episode of Spain: On the Road Again, when she tromped out into the Atlantic to hunt Berberechos and didn't have to sacrifice her chic... but that may be just too chic for me.

There are some other fabulous rain boots on Piperlime - I love the peacock and polka-dot versions from Chooka, as well as the ombre-hued Aquatalia boots by Marvin K. Gorgeous!

After all, it may be miserable, but that doesn't mean I have to look the part!

I have a pair from Henri Bendels that are cute, but hard to drive and walk in. I saw Wellies on sale at J. Crew today.

The peacock ones are for me! Silver is very you - do it! I'm looking into my crystal ball and I do not see silver running afoul of anything the next many wet and rainy seasons :)

Appropriate is boring. Silver is awesome!
