Pull Up a Cupcake...

Yes, today is my birthday! I am officially many fingers old, and I am giving everyone reading this my permission (as queen for the day) to indulge in cupcakes.

By the way, I couldn't resist posting this picture of me and my sister from one of my birthdays many years ago. I think we were at a San Francisco restaurant in the Sunset District known as The Gold Mirror - you know, one of those mid-century neighborhood places that gave iself a dose of glamour with a ritzy name.  Check out the exposed brick and the kitchy amber glass candle lanterns... Here we are, in our pinafores, mugging. Except I'm the one in the birthday crown.
