Fall 2008 - Spear Me A Mint

Unflattering bridesmaid colors, part III: The Search for Spearmint. This is another tricky one that can look great with a solid chocolate brown, charcoal grey or deep navy blue. It's not jade, nor emerald. It's closer to sage, but with more of a nod from a 1950s diner. (Or one of Crockett's t-shirts on Miami Vice.) Designers seem to love it - Marc Jacobs played with it across all three of his runway shows, as did Miuccia Prada for both Prada and Miu Miu.

Spearmint is muted, cool, and when the hue is balanced well it looks great... If it's not balanced well? Take a look at the Prada model down below to see what happens. I think it's called "death." Since when did typhoid-chic become a trend?
