Don't Get Me Wrong, If I Come and Go Like a Fashion...

Hello friends! I'm sorry to been a bad blogger again! The past few weeks have been very stressful professionally, and unfortunately, I was laid off from my wonderful company on Wednesday.
I am sad, but not bitter - I loved every moment of working there, especially the people I worked with. We collaborated, created, built great things, and laughed while we did it. I will miss my work family more than anything.
So, what's next? I'm not really sure. I'm on day 2 and already kind of bored, but overall I think this is the way things were meant to be. I do feel like bigger, better things are coming their way, so I am going to do all I can to be prepared for them! I am thankful to just have some time off (and hope it won't be TOO long,) and work on some projects that I really want to work on.
I should warn you, I hope to be posting here again with gusto within a few days, but I am back on my 10-year-old iBook which is buggy at best, and slow all of the time. First thing on the list is a new computer! If anyone has any advice in this regard, please let me know!
What else is on the list?
Opening every cupboard, cabinet, and drawer in my home; taking everything out; cleaning the cupboard, cabinet and drawer as well as what came out of it; and, if the item is worthy of keeping, replacing itin an organized way.
Vacuuming a lot
Reading Proust (and committing to it)
Drawing
Going to the museums
Sewing
Preparing my upcoming Etsy shop
Cooking
Spending time with friends that I haven't seen in ages since they now have kids; meeting their kids
Going to the beach
Taking long walks or runs
Riding my bike
I know it sounds like a vacation, but it's not. I wouldn't choose to be here and at my core I'm still pretty scared. But, I'm also incredibly optimistic, and like I said before I do believe this is just a hiccup in the master plan. I would certainly like to thank all of my friends and blogosphere buddies who have been so kind over the past two days with their well-wishes, phone calls, emails, texts, Twitter posts, etc. You cannot know how much it has meant to me! Especially when I was freaked out, teary, sitting in a bar, having a vodka at noon on a Wednesday. (And I'd especialy like to thank the friend who came to join me at the bar and bought me my vodka...you know who you are, you know I love you, and you know I'll return the favor some day.)
When you're at your worst, it is wonderful to know that people love you.
PS - I am open to hearing about any jobs, writing projects, consulting opportunities, etc, that may be out there. Please send me an email (address to the right) and I can forward you my CV. Thanks!

As far as a computer goes, we are mac people. We both have iMacs purchased within the last to years and they are outstanding. The next laptop will be an Apple product as well... we just need to sell a few more placemats and napkins to get there!
You are in our thoughts, and if we can help in *any* way, we're on it. I'm sending a cyberhug your way,

Did not like the vodka at noon and you just sound sad. So - exercise and
increase the veggies and make all the doctor appointments that have been put off.
Then - well the door is open to all possibilities.
(Can not see this find print -- the the spelling is bad -- too bad)

I've been a long time reader of P&C, and you have given me so much inspiration over the years.
I'm sorry to hear about your job situation. Hang in there girl!
I also work for a major retailer who is still hiring.. I'm in charge of Endcaps in my region, and I know that we are always looking for people.
Sending you positive thoughts!!!
