Bon Weekend!

I read Ray Bradbury's The Halloween Tree in the sixth grade but I still think of it every year. This was a book that our teacher, Mrs. Van Loon who let us all call her "Loony", even looked forward to teaching. I remember her reading certain sections outloud, making the story incredibly vivid and exciting. It felt like we were all on the adventure with the boys, traveling time and space to learn about different cultures and traditions. Instead we were sitting at our desks, soon to head home to piano lessons, ballet, or soccer. The Halloween Tree is one of those fabulous childhood stories where you're completely frightened, but you also know that you're safe. It's a nice feeling...

And on that note, have a fun (but safe), exciting, inspiring, and happy Halloween!!!
