Red-eyed leaf frog. This tree species of beautiful colors lives in the lowland rain forest on the Caribbean slope.

No, I'm not going to Costa Rica for Christmas, but I've always loved this postcard that my friend Emilie sent to me about 10 years ago. The little frog is exotic and gorgeous, and I love the tropical, electric-hued greens and reds! The perfect update on traditional Christmas colors. Okay, so it's not exactly meant to be a Christmas color combo, but I thought this bit of the tropics was a nice departure from ice and snow!
