Postcard: Bermuda, 1965

Bermuda: A group of 360 small islands of coral formation located 774 miles Southeast of New York. Its capital is Hamilton.
With all of the snow out East and the torrential rain out West, it's no wonder why birds (and people) fly South for the winter. We are now entering what the fashion world likes to term the "Resort" season, which will then merge with that other pre-spring season called "Cruise". Resort collections are designed for those snowbirds who leave the confines of the Upper East Side and go someplace warm and tropical for the duration of winter. Let's face it, it kind of makes a lot of sense.
This postcard is a stunner. I cannot remember when or where I found it, but the copyright on the bac is from 1965. So, even if it's a re-print, the look is pure vintage. A delightful cartoon map of Bermuda and its many activities, this is the kind of postcard I love. It's totally of its era, has a lot of colorful charm, and is exactly the kind of thing you'd take home to show friends all of the places you visited during your stay. It's not only artful but a bit of a travel guide too. All this, and a scalloped edge!
