This is, after all, the time of year when people start to fly south for the winter, no? I just loved this vintage shot of Miami Beach back in the day. It still looks glamorous and posh - especially from a Delta "56 passenger, 300-mile-an-hour Douglas DC-6." I just think of Claudette Colbert in The Palm Beach Story, or all the weak-eyed millionaires reading The Wall Street Journal on the beach - à la Some Like it Hot. You know, the time when traveling to Miami Beach in the winter actually meant something luxurious...
