From Mirror Mirror - A Social History of Fashion by Michael & Ariane Batterberry, 1977 (Out of print.)

This fashion sketch by Marcel Hemjic from 1929 shows the latest designs of the season against a backdrop of the Chateau de Madrid.

"Fashion Promenade in the Bois, a modish Pageant: The models are wearing skirts slightly longer and waitline higher, polka dots, crepe de Chine, small handkerchief scarves, pleats. Irregular side panels are fashionable, and imitation flowers have returned to hats, which are small and close-fitting."
