Postcard: Venezia Piazzetta S. Marco, 1971

Something about this image is just odd. The sun is bright, the pigeons are having a grand time, and the locals are taking a stroll. The yellow cafe chairs are the perfect contrast against the blue sky, and show a touch of modernity in the ancient town of Venice. But, there's no one sitting in any of the tables! And, if you've ever visited Venice you'd know that those cafe tables are almost always full unless there's a flood or something. Weird, hunh?
