Sequoia-Paris Trunk Show

Last Thursday evening, Luna Boutique - a new must-shop locale in Presidio Heights, hosted a trunk show for the new Fall 2010 collection of Sequoia-Paris handbags. Designed by Pierre Hardy since the late 1980s, the Sequoia line is just emerging onto the US market after years of success in Paris and the rest of Europe.

Over the past year I've been lucky enough to work with the Sequoia US team as one of my freelance jobs, so I'm thrilled to finally have the chance to talk up the brand on a bigger scale! After working with the product directly, I have been impressed over and over again. First, the designs are very easy and chic - perfect for every day wear with a very soft, Bohemian, and casual look. Second, the quality of the craftsmanship is amazing, especially when you line it up with the pricepoint; these are beautifully-crafted bags at an extremely reasonable price. Third, hello - it's Pierre Hardy! Fourth...well, let me just say that I get compliments on my Sequoia bag CONSTANTLY. Everyone asks me where it's from, who designed it, and where to get one for themselves.

In other words: you really need to be aware of this brand.

But don't take my word for it - Sequoia had a fabulous editorial in the September issue of Elle magazine, as well as multiple mentions in WWD and New York Magazine's The Cut Blog. Up next are a collection of flats featuring Sequoia's signature circle motif on the toe. Those will surely give the Reva Flat a run for her money!

For right now, the Luna Boutique in San Francisco is the only shop with the Fall 2010 collection in stores, so if you're in the are you definitely need to make a visit. Christina Spaulding, the owner of Luna, purchased a number of select pieces from the Sequoia collection to support the look of her luxuriously well-appointed (but still easy-going) clothing selection. The mix is perfectly heavenly!

Stay tuned to Poetic & Chic for more information on Sequoia-Paris, as well as a future handbag giveaway! This will be something you won't want to miss! In the meantime, check out the collection online and let me know some of your favorite styles!
